The Best is Ahead

…living the days with heart wide open…

Comparing my beginning with someone else’s middle….

on January 1, 2014

The opening post on a new blogsite on the very first day of the year.  A post that almost didn’t happen as promised.

Because in my mind I wanted it to be perfect.  I wanted everything to look stunning, be totally accurate, be flawlessly decorated, and I wanted the first message to be awe-inspiring, moving, unforgettable.  I was going to learn everything that I needed to know to make this happen.  And then it dawned on me as I stared and fiddled and read instructions and went through hours of my laptop battery and got intimidated looking at other successful blogsites.  I am not exactly what you would call tech-literate.  And here I was focusing on technical competence instead of just getting a foothold and starting to write.

So as of tonight I’ve done a few things.  Picked a theme and title, written a short description, my “About” section, and this first post.  And I found the moral in the blog kick-off story.  We can’t let ourselves get paralyzed because our view of perfection keeps us from doing the best that we can…for today.  We can keep working on it … and that’s how we learn and grow.

As you’re reading please bear with me and be patient.  It takes time for writing to flow, and when someone feels like there’s so much they want to share … it’s really hard to know where to start.  Just keep believing that the best is ahead.

Perfection is desired but never attained. You’ve just learned an important life lesson, my friend! I look forward to reading this blog, experiencing your perception of life through your beautiful eyes! Even the trips and stumbles in our journey help define the smooth path, so keep writing through them all!
